Pinteresting!
Hi guys! I'm back to blogging again - paused for a period of time and haven't post enough entries. It's been a busy year last year and these past few months also but I promise (well i hope) to post as much as I can here. To start of, I'd like to share to you the one thing that keeps me busy (and seriously addicting) is Pinterest. It's a website that allows you to create and organize a board in different categories and "bookmarks" the items you like on a certain blog or website. You can also "repin" stuff that you like.Try it! It's fun and don't forget to follow me! :) Happy Pinning!

Bacon and Eggs
Had a tiring day at work. Went home at around 7 in the evening, hungry and I thought why not make a very easy meal? Bacon and eggs for dinner! (Just when you think bacon and eggs only happen in the morning...) :) I got the recipe from martha stewart.

Tuna Ala King
For our Saturday inuman at a friends house I decided to bring Tuna Ala King inspired by Jenni Epperson :) Instead of using Century Corned Tuna, I used 1 big Century Tuna in hot and spicy and 1 in brine. In her recipe she put frozen veggies and white onions-I added mushrooms topped with cheese and I got great reviews! :) Next to try on Tuna Sliders :)

Food Trip# 2: Cafe 1771
Hi guys! My friends and I finally ate at this restaurant near our office. We love the ambiance feels like you're in a different location plus the food and service is great. We tried their Prosciutto and Salami Antipasto (I'm not a fan of their antipasto), Holy cow pizza (love it!), Spaghetti Roasted with Tomatoes and Pasta Chorizo (this is my fave!) all of these are good for 2 to 4 persons. And while we wait for our food they gave us free popcorn. So, if you like to explore and try out new resto visit Cafe 1771. Still undecided? Click here for their menu. Happy Eating! :)

Happy New Year!
Hi everyone! :) Happy New Year! Yesterday was a fun day because it was my friend Ryan's birthday. The party was called "Shala-fest" and we wore fake mustache and dressed up. The day was filled with holiday stories, lots of laughter and of course great food! Happy Birthday Ry-Ry! :)

Grilled Chicken and Herbs
A Mother's Day special :)
I cooked grilled chicken and herbs. First I marinated the chicken with garlic, calamansi juice, salt, pepper, oregano, rosemary and thyme for 30 minutes. Then I drizzled it with olive oil to prevent it from sticking to the grill. I made sure to pre-heat the stove-top grill to capture the grill marks on my chicken. I cooked it for at least 15-20 minutes. Then for the onion sauce, I poured the oil (drippings) from the chicken. I sautèd the onions until translucent. Then I added 2 cloves of chopped garlic and cooked it until golden brown. Poured the remaining marinade and added a teaspoon of brown sugar and a pinch of pepper to taste. I then poured the sauce over the chicken and garnished it with fresh thyme.

Road trip up North :)
Me and my family went to Ballesteros, Cagayan to visit our relatives (Lola's side). It's a 16 hour drive and man! my butt hurts! :P But the travel was worth it because of the scenery and ofcourse! The food! :) Authentic local food! Before you reach Cagayan you have to pass by Ilocos first and the famous spring water from the mountains.
Taken from the famous spring water from the mountains.
(And fyi, the water is clean and you can drink it! Cool!)

Banana Fritters with Choco Dip

Dessert time! :) I made banana fritters for my nephews for merienda. I just opened a box of Maya Hotcake mix, followed the instructions (**note that I did not put oil in the hotcake mixture so that it would coat the banana evenly) then in a separate bowl I opened a bag of tempura breading and seasoned it with a pinch of salt and cinnamon.
Dip the banana in the hotcake mixture then coat it with the tempura breading. Make sure that your oil in the pan is hot before you put the banana. Remove when its already golden brown.
For the chocolate dip, I just melted a few tsokolate de cacao in a boiling water or you can use maple syrup instead. Try this one, it's great!

Cream Dory in herb and garlic butter

My sister and I have been experimenting different ways to cook cream dory. And I decided to top it with herb and garlic butter. First, I seasoned the cream dory with salt and pepper, drizzled some calamansi juice. Then set it aside for like 30 minutes or until the fish absorbs the flavor.
